### sec.189 Operation of amendment, suspension or cancellation of registration
This section applies if a decision is made to amend, suspend or cancel a person’s registration under section 188 .
Subject to subsections (3) and (4) , the amendment, suspension or cancellation of the person’s registration takes effect on the later of the following—
the day the information notice about the decision is given to the person;
the day stated in the information notice.
If the person’s registration is amended, suspended or cancelled because the person has been convicted of an offence—
the tribunal may, on application by the person as provided under the QCAT Act , order that the amendment, suspension or cancellation be stayed until—
the end of the time to appeal against the conviction; or
if an appeal is made against the conviction—the appeal is finally decided, lapses or otherwise ends; and
the amendment, suspension or cancellation does not have effect during any period for which the stay is in force.
If the person’s registration is amended, suspended or cancelled because the person has been convicted of an offence and the conviction is quashed—
the amendment or suspension ceases to have effect when the conviction is quashed; or
the cancellation ceases to have effect when the conviction is quashed and the person’s registration is restored as if it had merely been suspended.

(sec.189-ssec.1) This section applies if a decision is made to amend, suspend or cancel a person’s registration under section 188 .
(sec.189-ssec.2) Subject to subsections (3) and (4) , the amendment, suspension or cancellation of the person’s registration takes effect on the later of the following— the day the information notice about the decision is given to the person; the day stated in the information notice.

(sec.189-ssec.4) If the person’s registration is amended, suspended or cancelled because the person has been convicted of an offence and the conviction is quashed— the amendment or suspension ceases to have effect when the conviction is quashed; or the cancellation ceases to have effect when the conviction is quashed and the person’s registration is restored as if it had merely been suspended.
- (a) the day the information notice about the decision is given to the person;
- (b) the day stated in the information notice.
