### sec.183 Grant or renewal of local registration
The law society must consider an application that has been made for the grant or renewal of registration as a foreign lawyer and may—
grant or refuse to grant the registration; or
renew or refuse to renew the registration.
The law society may, when granting or renewing registration, impose conditions as mentioned in section 203 .
If the law society grants or renews the registration, the law society must give the applicant a registration certificate or a notice of renewal.
If the law society decides not to grant or renew the registration, or imposes a condition on the registration that the applicant has not agreed to as part of the grant or renewal of the registration—
the law society must give the person an information notice about the law society’s decision; and
the person may apply, as provided under the QCAT Act , to the tribunal for a review of the decision.
A notice of renewal may be in the form of a new registration certificate or another form the law society considers appropriate.
