### sec.5 Valuer-general to make valuations
The valuer-general must decide the value of land, as provided for under this Act, for the purposes mentioned in section 6 .
A decision under subsection (1) about the value of land is a valuation of the land.

The types of valuations are—
valuations made under section 72 (1) of all lands in a local government area ( annual valuations ); and
valuations made under part 5 ( maintenance valuations ).
An annual valuation or maintenance valuation may be issued for any or all of the purposes mentioned in section 6 (1) .
(sec.5-ssec.1) The valuer-general must decide the value of land, as provided for under this Act, for the purposes mentioned in section 6 .
