### sec.76 Amending a mortgage
A registered mortgage may be amended by registering an instrument of amendment of the mortgage.
However, the instrument of amendment must not—
increase or decrease the area of land charged by the mortgage; or
add or remove a party to the mortgage.
(sec.76-ssec.1) A registered mortgage may be amended by registering an instrument of amendment of the mortgage.
(sec.76-ssec.2) However, the instrument of amendment must not— increase or decrease the area of land charged by the mortgage; or add or remove a party to the mortgage.
- (a) increase or decrease the area of land charged by the mortgage; or
- (b) add or remove a party to the mortgage.
