### sec.32 State leases over reserves
The Minister must not grant a lease over a reserve for more than 30 years.
A lease over a reserve must not contain a covenant, agreement or condition—
to renew the lease; or
to convert to another form of tenure (including freehold); or
to buy the land.
A lease over a reserve may be granted only if the lease—
would be consistent with the purpose for which the land was reserved; or
would facilitate or enhance the purpose for which the land was reserved.
Despite subsection (3) , a lease may be granted over a reserve for a purpose inconsistent with the purpose for which the reserve was dedicated if—
the lease would not diminish the purpose; and
no more improvements, other than improvements approved by the chief executive, are built or placed by the lessee on the leased part of the reserve.
If there is a trustee of the reserve, the trustee must be consulted before the lease is granted.
