### sec.155DA Notice of intention to reduce term
This section applies if the Minister proposes to reduce the term of a lease under section 155D .
However, this section does not apply to a lease if—
the lease has been extended under section 155A , 155B or 155BA ; and
the Minister proposes to reduce the term of the lease by an amount that is no more than the period for which it was extended.
Before reducing the term, the Minister must give the lessee a notice stating each of the following—
that the Minister proposes to reduce the term of the lease;
the number of years by which the Minister proposes to reduce the term;
the reasons for the Minister’s proposal to reduce the term;
that the lessee may, within the reasonable period stated in the notice, make written submissions to show why the term should not be reduced.
In deciding whether to reduce the term, the Minister must consider any written submissions made by the lessee within the period stated in the notice.

(sec.155DA-ssec.1) This section applies if the Minister proposes to reduce the term of a lease under section 155D .
(sec.155DA-ssec.2) However, this section does not apply to a lease if— the lease has been extended under section 155A , 155B or 155BA ; and the Minister proposes to reduce the term of the lease by an amount that is no more than the period for which it was extended.
(sec.155DA-ssec.3) Before reducing the term, the Minister must give the lessee a notice stating each of the following— that the Minister proposes to reduce the term of the lease; the number of years by which the Minister proposes to reduce the term; the reasons for the Minister’s proposal to reduce the term; that the lessee may, within the reasonable period stated in the notice, make written submissions to show why the term should not be reduced.
(sec.155DA-ssec.4) In deciding whether to reduce the term, the Minister must consider any written submissions made by the lessee within the period stated in the notice.
- (a) the lease has been extended under section 155A , 155B or 155BA ; and
- (b) the Minister proposes to reduce the term of the lease by an amount that is no more than the period for which it was extended.
- (a) that the Minister proposes to reduce the term of the lease;
- (b) the number of years by which the Minister proposes to reduce the term;
- (c) the reasons for the Minister’s proposal to reduce the term;
- (d) that the lessee may, within the reasonable period stated in the notice, make written submissions to show why the term should not be reduced.
