### sec.77 Taking of evidence
The deposition of a witness must be—
written; and
read to the witness or, if the defendant consents, by the witness; and
then signed by the witness and the presiding judicial officer.
Subsection (1) applies subject to the Recording of Evidence Act 1962 or any other Act.

(sec.77-ssec.1) The deposition of a witness must be— written; and read to the witness or, if the defendant consents, by the witness; and then signed by the witness and the presiding judicial officer.
