### sec.51A Protection from liability
In this section—
official means—
the Minister; or
the Commissioner; or
the chief executive; or
an inspector; or
a police officer; or
a person acting under the direction of an inspector or a police officer.
An official does not incur civil liability for an act or omission done honestly and without negligence under this Act.
A liability that would, apart from this section, attach to an official attaches instead to the State.
