### sec.49 Offences and penalty
A person who contravenes or fails to comply with any provision of this Act is guilty of an offence against this Act and, where no penalty is expressly provided, is liable to a penalty not exceeding 10 penalty units.
Any offence against this Act which is expressed to be punishable upon conviction on indictment is a misdemeanour.
Except where this Act otherwise provides, offences against this Act shall be punishable on summary conviction.
