### sec.44 Preparing guideline
The information commissioner may—
prepare a draft guideline about the collection, use or disclosure of personal information to assist an entity locate a person who has been reported as missing; and
submit the draft to the Minister for endorsement.
However, before the information commissioner submits the draft guideline to the Minister, the commissioner must—
publish the draft on the commissioner’s website; and
invite the public to make submissions to the commissioner about the draft within a stated period of at least 20 business days; and
consider any submissions made within the stated period.

(sec.44-ssec.1) The information commissioner may— prepare a draft guideline about the collection, use or disclosure of personal information to assist an entity locate a person who has been reported as missing; and submit the draft to the Minister for endorsement.
(sec.44-ssec.2) However, before the information commissioner submits the draft guideline to the Minister, the commissioner must— publish the draft on the commissioner’s website; and invite the public to make submissions to the commissioner about the draft within a stated period of at least 20 business days; and consider any submissions made within the stated period.
- (a) prepare a draft guideline about the collection, use or disclosure of personal information to assist an entity locate a person who has been reported as missing; and
- (b) submit the draft to the Minister for endorsement.
