### sec.199 Exchange of information
The information commissioner may enter into an arrangement (an information-sharing arrangement ) with a prescribed agency for the purpose of sharing or exchanging information—
held by the information commissioner or the prescribed agency; or
to which the information commissioner or prescribed agency has access.
An information-sharing arrangement may relate only to information that assists—
the information commissioner perform the commissioner’s functions under this Act; or
the prescribed agency perform its functions.
Under an information-sharing arrangement, the information commissioner and the prescribed agency are, despite another Act or law, authorised to—
ask for and receive information held by the other party to the arrangement or to which the other party has access; and
disclose information to the other party.
In this section—
prescribed agency —
means a department or administrative unit within a department that has functions related to whole of government cybersecurity management and operations; or
a department or government entity of the State, another State or the Commonwealth that has functions related to protecting the privacy of individuals, whether or not the entity has other functions; or
another department, public authority or government entity of the State, another State or the Commonwealth, prescribed by regulation for this paragraph.
