### sec.172 Certification of mediated agreement
This section applies if, after mediation of a privacy complaint, the complainant and the respondent for the complaint agree on a resolution of the complaint.
The complainant or the respondent may ask the information commissioner to prepare a written record of the agreement.
A request under subsection (2) must be made within 20 business days after the agreement is reached under subsection (1) .
If a request is made under subsection (2) , the commissioner must take all reasonable steps to—
prepare a written record of the agreement; and
have the record signed by both the complainant and the respondent; and
certify the agreement.
