### sec.978 Students’ work permits
A student who is undertaking a tertiary study course may apply to the registrar for the issue of a permit to work in a calling for a particular period.
The application must provide satisfactory proof the period of work in the calling is necessary to complete the course.
The permit must state—
the period of work; and
the student’s wage rate; and
any conditions it is subject to.
On issuing a permit, the registrar must promptly notify the secretary of an employee organisation in the calling of—
the issue of the permit; and
the permit’s conditions.
The permit has effect despite an industrial instrument.
