### sec.420 Acting vice-president
This section applies if the vice-president temporarily can not perform the functions of office.
The Governor in Council may, by gazette notice, appoint a person to act as the vice-president.
The person must be a person who may be appointed as vice-president under section 418 .
A person who has acted as vice-president may attend sittings of the court to give a decision in, or otherwise complete, proceedings that were heard by the person while acting as vice-president.
The person’s decision in the proceedings is taken to be the decision of the vice-president.
