### sec.348 Right of entry
An authorised officer who is an officer or employee of an organisation may enter a workplace at which an employer carries on a calling of the officer’s organisation, during the employer’s business hours, to exercise a power under subdivision 2 .
On entering the workplace, the authorised officer must first—
notify the employer or the employer’s representative that has charge of the workplace of the officer’s presence; and
produce the officer’s authorisation, if required by the employer or representative.
Subsection (2) does not apply if neither the employer nor the employer’s representative having charge of the workplace is present when the authorised officer enters the workplace.
The employer must not refuse an authorised officer entry to the workplace if the officer complies with subsection (2) .
Maximum penalty—27 penalty units.
If the authorised officer does not comply with subsection (2) , the officer may be treated as a trespasser.
