### sec.242 Certificate as to requested representation
An employee organisation may apply to the registrar for a certificate stating that an employee has asked the organisation, under section 171 , to represent the employee in negotiating with the employer under this chapter.
An employer may apply to the registrar for a certificate stating that the employer need not negotiate with an employee organisation under this chapter because of a circumstance mentioned in section 171 (5) .
A certificate must identify the organisation, the employer and any proposed bargaining instrument.
A certificate must not identify any of the employees concerned.
The certificate is, for all purposes of this Act, evidence of the matters stated in it.
