### sec.14 Definitions for chapter
In this chapter—
applicable industrial instrument means any of the following—
a modern award;
a certified agreement or bargaining award;
an arbitration determination.
long term casual employee see section 15 .
ordinary hours of work , for an employee, means—
the employee’s ordinary hours of work as provided for under an applicable industrial instrument that applies to the employee; or
if paragraph (a) does not apply—the hours agreed by the employee and the employee’s employer as the employee’s ordinary hours of work.
relevant industrial instrument , in relation to an employee, means an applicable industrial instrument that applies to the employee.
short term casual employee means a casual employee, other than a long term casual employee.
- (a) a modern award;
- (b) a certified agreement or bargaining award;
- (c) an arbitration determination.
- (a) the employee’s ordinary hours of work as provided for under an applicable industrial instrument that applies to the employee; or
- (b) if paragraph (a) does not apply—the hours agreed by the employee and the employee’s employer as the employee’s ordinary hours of work.
