### sec.106 Summary proceedings for offences
A proceeding for an offence against this Act must be taken in a summary way under the Justices Act 1886 .
The proceeding must start within the later of the following periods to end—
1 year after the commission of the offence;
6 months after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence.
(sec.106-ssec.1) A proceeding for an offence against this Act must be taken in a summary way under the Justices Act 1886 .
(sec.106-ssec.2) The proceeding must start within the later of the following periods to end— 1 year after the commission of the offence; 6 months after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence.
- (a) 1 year after the commission of the offence;
- (b) 6 months after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence.
