### sec.270 Limitation on time for starting proceedings for summary offence A summary proceeding under the Justices Act 1886 for a summary offence against this Act must start within whichever is the longer of the following— 1 year after the commission of the offence; 1 year after the offence comes to the knowledge of the complainant, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence. - (a) 1 year after the commission of the offence; - (b) 1 year after the offence comes to the knowledge of the complainant, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence.
