### sec.245 Power to require name and address This section applies if an inspector— finds a person committing an offence against this Act; or finds a person in circumstances that lead the inspector to reasonably suspect the person has just committed an offence against this Act; or has information that leads the inspector to reasonably suspect a person has just committed an offence against this Act. The inspector may require the person to state the person’s name and residential address. The inspector may also require the person to give evidence of the correctness of the stated name or address if, in the circumstances, it would be reasonable to expect the person to— be in possession of evidence of the correctness of the stated name or address; or otherwise be able to give the evidence. When making a personal details requirement, the inspector must give the person an offence warning for the requirement. A requirement under this section is a personal details requirement . (sec.245-ssec.1) This section applies if an inspector— finds a person committing an offence against this Act; or finds a person in circumstances that lead the inspector to reasonably suspect the person has just committed an offence against this Act; or has information that leads the inspector to reasonably suspect a person has just committed an offence against this Act.
