### sec.242 When thing becomes property of the State A thing becomes the property of the State if— the thing is forfeited to the State under section 238 (1) or 240 ; or the owner of the thing and the State agree, in writing, to the transfer of the ownership of the thing to the State. - (a) the thing is forfeited to the State under section 238 (1) or 240 ; or - (b) the owner of the thing and the State agree, in writing, to the transfer of the ownership of the thing to the State.
