154 Notices to show cause why works or activities should not be carried out
(1) This section applies if the Executive Director considers that a person has contravened section 152 or 153.

(2) The Executive Director may serve written notice on the owner of the registered place or registered object requiring the owner to show cause, within 21 days after the date of the notice, why the Executive Director should not make an order requiring the owner to carry out the works or activities specified in the notice within the period specified in the notice.

(2A) If a registered place or registered object is owned by more than one person, a notice under subsection (2) may be served on any or all of the owners whom the Executive Director considers has contravened section 152 or 153.

(3) The Executive Director must only specify works or activities in a notice under subsection (2) which, in the Executive Director's opinion, are necessary to prevent further deterioration in the condition of the registered place or registered object.
(4) A notice under subsection (2) must inform the owner on whom it is served of the provisions of sections 155 to 157.
