### sec.87A Person must not tamper with plate or label
A person must not tamper with a plate or label fitted or affixed to a heavy vehicle under section 86 (2) or 87 (3) .
Maximum penalty—$3000.
In a proceeding for an offence against subsection (1) , it is a defence for the person to prove that the tampering was done with the written approval of the Regulator.
In this section—
tamper means alter, damage, remove or otherwise interfere with.
