### sec.82 Keeping relevant document while driving under vehicle standards exemption (notice)
This section applies if a vehicle standards exemption (notice) is subject to the condition that the driver of a heavy vehicle who is driving the vehicle under the exemption must keep a relevant document in the driver’s possession.
A driver of the heavy vehicle who is driving the vehicle under the vehicle standards exemption (notice) must comply with the condition.
Maximum penalty—$3000.
Each relevant party for a driver mentioned in subsection (2) must ensure the driver complies with subsection (2) , unless the relevant party has a reasonable excuse.

In this section—
relevant document , for a vehicle standards exemption (notice), means a copy of—
the Commonwealth Gazette notice for the exemption; or
an information sheet about the exemption published by the Regulator on the Regulator’s website.
relevant party , for the driver of a heavy vehicle, means—
an employer of the driver if the driver is an employed driver; or
a prime contractor of the driver if the driver is a self-employed driver; or
an operator of the vehicle if the driver is making a journey for the operator.

(sec.82-ssec.1) This section applies if a vehicle standards exemption (notice) is subject to the condition that the driver of a heavy vehicle who is driving the vehicle under the exemption must keep a relevant document in the driver’s possession.
(sec.82-ssec.2) A driver of the heavy vehicle who is driving the vehicle under the vehicle standards exemption (notice) must comply with the condition. Maximum penalty—$3000.
