### sec.698A No liability, right etc. arising from particular functions of authorised officer or Regulator
This section applies in relation to anything done by the Regulator or a protected person in the exercise of—
a function of an authorised officer under section 479 (2) ; or
a function of the Regulator under section 659 (2) (ka) .
The doing of the thing does not, of itself, give rise to—
a civil liability of the Regulator or protected person; or
a right, expectation, duty or obligation that would not otherwise be conferred or imposed on a person in relation to whom the thing was done; or
a defence that would not otherwise be available to a person in relation to whom the thing was done.
However, subsection (2) (a) applies only to a thing done by the Regulator or a protected person in good faith.

A reference in this section to doing a thing includes a reference to omitting to do a thing.

protected person see section 698 (3) .
