### sec.614 Limits on amount of compensation
If, in making a compensation order, the court is satisfied that the commission of the offence concerned contributed to damage to road infrastructure but that other factors not connected with the commission of the offence also contributed to the damage, the court must limit the amount of compensation payable under the order to the amount it assesses as being attributable to the defendant’s conduct.
The amount of compensation payable under a compensation order can not exceed the monetary jurisdictional limit of the court in civil proceedings.
The court may not include in a compensation order any amount for—
personal injury or death; or
loss of income (whether suffered by the road manager or another entity); or
damage to property that is not part of the road infrastructure concerned.
