### sec.505 Procedure for entry with consent
This section applies if an authorised officer is intending to ask the occupier for consent to enter a place under this Division (otherwise than under section 502 ).
Before asking for consent, the authorised officer must identify himself or herself to a person who is an occupier of the place and is present by producing—
for an authorised officer who is a police officer—an identity card or other document evidencing the officer’s appointment as a police officer; or
for an authorised officer who is not a police officer—the identity card issued to the officer under this Law or another document evidencing the officer’s appointment as an authorised officer.
Subsection (2) (a) does not apply to a police officer in uniform.
(sec.505-ssec.1) This section applies if an authorised officer is intending to ask the occupier for consent to enter a place under this Division (otherwise than under section 502 ).
(sec.505-ssec.2) Before asking for consent, the authorised officer must identify himself or herself to a person who is an occupier of the place and is present by producing— for an authorised officer who is a police officer—an identity card or other document evidencing the officer’s appointment as a police officer; or for an authorised officer who is not a police officer—the identity card issued to the officer under this Law or another document evidencing the officer’s appointment as an authorised officer.
(sec.505-ssec.3) Subsection (2) (a) does not apply to a police officer in uniform.
- (a) for an authorised officer who is a police officer—an identity card or other document evidencing the officer’s appointment as a police officer; or
- (b) for an authorised officer who is not a police officer—the identity card issued to the officer under this Law or another document evidencing the officer’s appointment as an authorised officer.
