### sec.493 Exercise of functions in relation to light vehicles This Chapter does not authorise the exercise of any function under this Chapter in relation to a vehicle that is not a heavy vehicle. However, a function under this Chapter may be exercised in relation to— a pilot vehicle or escort vehicle; or a vehicle to the extent (if any) that it is reasonably necessary for the purpose of determining if the vehicle is or is not a heavy vehicle. sch s 493 sub 2013 No. 4 s 12 (sec.493-ssec.1) This Chapter does not authorise the exercise of any function under this Chapter in relation to a vehicle that is not a heavy vehicle.
