### sec.487 Production or display of identity card
In exercising a power in relation to a person in the person’s presence, an authorised officer must—
produce the officer’s identity card for the person’s inspection before exercising the power; or
have the identity card displayed so it is clearly visible to the person when exercising the power.
However, if it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1) , the authorised officer must produce the identity card for the person’s inspection at the first reasonable opportunity.
For the purposes of subsection (1) , an authorised officer does not exercise a power in relation to a person only because the officer has entered a place as mentioned in section 495 (1) (b) or 497 (1) (b) or (d) .
Sections 505 and 510 include provisions requiring the production of identification by an authorised officer in circumstances mentioned in those sections.
(sec.487-ssec.1) In exercising a power in relation to a person in the person’s presence, an authorised officer must— produce the officer’s identity card for the person’s inspection before exercising the power; or have the identity card displayed so it is clearly visible to the person when exercising the power.
