### sec.396 Owner must maintain odometer The national regulations may require the fitting and maintenance of an odometer to a fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle. An owner of a fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle required by the national regulations to be fitted with an odometer must maintain the odometer in accordance with the requirements prescribed by the national regulations, unless the owner has a reasonable excuse.
