### sec.70 Stay of operation of original decision
An application under section 69 for review of a decision does not stay the decision.
However, before the decision takes effect, the chief executive may give the interested person a notice staying the operation of the decision for a stated period.
The stay may be granted on conditions the chief executive considers appropriate.
Also, whether or not the applicant has asked the chief executive to stay the operation of the decision, the applicant may apply to the tribunal for a stay of the decision.
The tribunal may stay the decision to secure the effectiveness of the review and any later review by the tribunal.
The stay may be granted on conditions the tribunal considers appropriate and has effect for the period stated by the tribunal.
The period of the stay must not extend past the time when the chief executive makes the reviewed decision and any later period the tribunal allows for the review of the reviewed decision.
