### sec.248A Protection for person carrying out forensic examination with consent
A person carrying out an authorised forensic examination of an adult is not liable for an act or omission to any greater extent than if the adult were an adult with capacity to consent and the act or omission happened with the adult’s consent.
An authorised forensic examination is not unlawful.
In this section—
authorised forensic examination , of an adult, means a forensic examination of the adult, consent to which has been given by—
a guardian for the adult; or
the public guardian under the Public Guardian Act 2014 , section 38 .

(sec.248A-ssec.1) A person carrying out an authorised forensic examination of an adult is not liable for an act or omission to any greater extent than if the adult were an adult with capacity to consent and the act or omission happened with the adult’s consent.
(sec.248A-ssec.2) An authorised forensic examination is not unlawful.
(sec.248A-ssec.3) In this section— authorised forensic examination , of an adult, means a forensic examination of the adult, consent to which has been given by— a guardian for the adult; or the public guardian under the Public Guardian Act 2014 , section 38 .
- (a) a guardian for the adult; or
- (b) the public guardian under the Public Guardian Act 2014 , section 38 .
