### sec.218 Acting public advocate
The Minister may appoint a person to act as the public advocate during any or all periods—
the office is vacant; or
the public advocate is absent from duty or, for another reason, is unable to perform the duties of the office.
A person appointed under subsection (1) may be appointed for a period of not more than 6 months.

(sec.218-ssec.1) The Minister may appoint a person to act as the public advocate during any or all periods— the office is vacant; or the public advocate is absent from duty or, for another reason, is unable to perform the duties of the office.
(sec.218-ssec.2) A person appointed under subsection (1) may be appointed for a period of not more than 6 months.
- (a) the office is vacant; or
- (b) the public advocate is absent from duty or, for another reason, is unable to perform the duties of the office.
