### sec.53 Application of Land Act 1994
State land is held and may be disposed of under the Land Act 1994 .
However, the university may grant an interest in State land only by way of lease.
Despite the Land Act 1994 , a trustee lease or sublease for land under that Act that is subject to an operational deed of grant in trust may be for up to 100 years.
Subsection (5) applies if the purpose for which land was granted in trust under the Land Act 1994 includes a reference to ‘university’.
The purpose is taken to include anything that is consistent with the university’s functions under section 5 .
Subsections (4) and (5) apply whether the land was granted in trust before or after the commencement of this section.
