### sec.26B Council may remove member from office
The council may remove an elected, appointed or additional member from office if at least 12 members are satisfied the member has not complied with—
section 26A (2) ; or
a conduct obligation.
If the council decides to remove a member from office under subsection (1) , the council must as soon as practicable—
give the member notice of the decision and the reasons for it; and
if the member is an appointed member—give the Minister a copy of the notice.
If the council gives a member a notice under subsection (2) (a) , the member’s term of office ends on the later of the following—
the day the member receives the notice;
the day, if any, stated in the notice for that purpose.
The council’s power to remove an appointed member from office under this section does not limit the Governor in Council’s powers under the Acts Interpretation Act 1954 , section 25 (1) (b) (i) or (iii) .
