### sec.54 Minister may appoint manager
This section applies to land that is designated fossicking land or a fossicking area (the land ).
The Minister may, with the owner’s approval, appoint a manager for the land (the land manager ).
The terms of the appointment are as stated in the instrument of appointment.
The Minister must not appoint a person as the land manager if the owner does not agree to the person’s appointment.
The land manager must—
care for and administer the land; and
ensure the management plan for the land is properly carried out; and
keep records of all amounts received by the land manager under this Act; and
account to the chief executive for the amounts.
The Public Sector Management and Employment Act 1988 does not apply to the appointment or employment of the land manager.
(sec.54-ssec.1) This section applies to land that is designated fossicking land or a fossicking area (the land ).
