### sec.62B Unattended fires
This section applies to a person who—
lights or assumes control of a fire in a State forest, timber reserve or forest entitlement area, including in a barbecue or fireplace provided by the chief executive; or
lights a fire to use an approved appliance.
The person must put the fire out before leaving the fire, unless the person has a reasonable excuse.
Maximum penalty—165 penalty units.
However, subsection (2) does not apply if someone else assumes control of the fire before the person leaves the fire.
