### sec.89 Comments or cost estimates during election period Subsection (2) applies to a public service employee of the treasury department (a treasury employee ), in the treasury employee’s official capacity, during the election period for a general election. The treasury employee may not give oral or written comments or cost estimates, relating to the policy proposals of a political party or candidate for election, to anyone other than another treasury employee. Subsection (2) applies unless the treasury employee is specifically authorised under another Act to give the comments or estimates. This section is to be read with the Electoral Act 1992 .
