### sec.30 Purpose and effect of this division
The purpose of this division is to provide for the issue of an infringement notice to a person for an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision as an alternative to proceedings for an order under the Australian Consumer Law (Queensland), section 224 .
This division does not—
require an infringement notice to be issued to a person for an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision; or
affect the liability of a person to proceedings under the Australian Consumer Law (Queensland), chapter 4 or chapter 5 , part 5-2 in relation to an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision if—
an infringement notice is not issued to the person for the alleged contravention; or
an infringement notice issued to a person for the alleged contravention is withdrawn under section 37 ; or
prevent a court from imposing a higher penalty than the penalty stated in the infringement notice if the person does not comply with the notice.

(sec.30-ssec.1) The purpose of this division is to provide for the issue of an infringement notice to a person for an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision as an alternative to proceedings for an order under the Australian Consumer Law (Queensland), section 224 .
(sec.30-ssec.2) This division does not— require an infringement notice to be issued to a person for an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision; or affect the liability of a person to proceedings under the Australian Consumer Law (Queensland), chapter 4 or chapter 5 , part 5-2 in relation to an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision if— an infringement notice is not issued to the person for the alleged contravention; or an infringement notice issued to a person for the alleged contravention is withdrawn under section 37 ; or prevent a court from imposing a higher penalty than the penalty stated in the infringement notice if the person does not comply with the notice.
- (a) require an infringement notice to be issued to a person for an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision; or
- (b) affect the liability of a person to proceedings under the Australian Consumer Law (Queensland), chapter 4 or chapter 5 , part 5-2 in relation to an alleged contravention of an infringement notice provision if— (i) an infringement notice is not issued to the person for the alleged contravention; or (ii) an infringement notice issued to a person for the alleged contravention is withdrawn under section 37 ; or
- (i) an infringement notice is not issued to the person for the alleged contravention; or
- (ii) an infringement notice issued to a person for the alleged contravention is withdrawn under section 37 ; or
- (c) prevent a court from imposing a higher penalty than the penalty stated in the infringement notice if the person does not comply with the notice.
- (i) an infringement notice is not issued to the person for the alleged contravention; or
- (ii) an infringement notice issued to a person for the alleged contravention is withdrawn under section 37 ; or
