### sec.58 Proof of letters patent
The chief executive (premiers) or the State archivist may certify a copy of any letters patent issued by the Crown in relation to the State, or in relation to any matter that concerns the State, to be a true copy of the letters patent.
The chief executive (premiers) may delegate the power under subsection (1) to an appropriately qualified officer of that chief executive’s department.
The State archivist may delegate the power under subsection (1) to an appropriately qualified officer of the State archives.
The copy of the letters patent certified by the chief executive (premiers) or the State archivist is, on production in any proceeding in which it is sought to prove the letters patent, evidence of the matters contained in the copy.
In this section—
chief executive (premiers) means the chief executive of the department dealing with matters under the Constitution of Queensland 2001 .
State archives means the Queensland State Archives established under the Public Records Act 2023 , section 42 (2) .
State archivist means the State Archivist under the Public Records Act 2023 , section 42 (1) .

(sec.58-ssec.1) The chief executive (premiers) or the State archivist may certify a copy of any letters patent issued by the Crown in relation to the State, or in relation to any matter that concerns the State, to be a true copy of the letters patent.
(sec.58-ssec.2) The chief executive (premiers) may delegate the power under subsection (1) to an appropriately qualified officer of that chief executive’s department.
(sec.58-ssec.3) The State archivist may delegate the power under subsection (1) to an appropriately qualified officer of the State archives.
(sec.58-ssec.4) The copy of the letters patent certified by the chief executive (premiers) or the State archivist is, on production in any proceeding in which it is sought to prove the letters patent, evidence of the matters contained in the copy.
(sec.58-ssec.5) In this section— chief executive (premiers) means the chief executive of the department dealing with matters under the Constitution of Queensland 2001 . State archives means the Queensland State Archives established under the Public Records Act 2023 , section 42 (2) . State archivist means the State Archivist under the Public Records Act 2023 , section 42 (1) .
