### sec.21Q Satisfaction of Criminal Code , section 616
This section applies if a person charged who does not have a legal representative for the cross-examination of a protected witness refuses legal assistance, available because of an order under section 21O (4) , to cross-examine the witness.
The Criminal Code , section 616 is taken to have been satisfied for the person charged in relation to cross-examination of the witness despite the person charged being unable to cross-examine the witness because of section 21N .
