### sec.21H Filing and notification
If the chief executive officer of a law enforcement agency gives a witness identity protection certificate for an operative in relation to a proceeding, the agency must—
file the certificate with the relevant court for the proceeding before the operative gives evidence in the proceeding; and
if the agency is the police service—give to the chairperson of the CCC a copy of the certificate and notice of the date it was filed.
Also, the law enforcement agency must give a copy of the witness identity protection certificate to each party to the proceeding at least 14 days, or the shorter period agreed to by a party, before the day the operative is to give evidence.
The relevant court may order the law enforcement agency to give a copy of the witness identity protection certificate to someone else stated in the order.

(sec.21H-ssec.1) If the chief executive officer of a law enforcement agency gives a witness identity protection certificate for an operative in relation to a proceeding, the agency must— file the certificate with the relevant court for the proceeding before the operative gives evidence in the proceeding; and if the agency is the police service—give to the chairperson of the CCC a copy of the certificate and notice of the date it was filed.
(sec.21H-ssec.2) Also, the law enforcement agency must give a copy of the witness identity protection certificate to each party to the proceeding at least 14 days, or the shorter period agreed to by a party, before the day the operative is to give evidence.
(sec.21H-ssec.3) The relevant court may order the law enforcement agency to give a copy of the witness identity protection certificate to someone else stated in the order.
- (a) file the certificate with the relevant court for the proceeding before the operative gives evidence in the proceeding; and
- (b) if the agency is the police service—give to the chairperson of the CCC a copy of the certificate and notice of the date it was filed.
