### sec.21AZJ Meaning of relevant proceeding
A relevant proceeding is a criminal proceeding—
for a child sexual offence; and
held before a court at a place prescribed by regulation.
For subsection (1) (a) , it does not matter whether the criminal proceeding also relates to other offences.
In this section—
child sexual offence means an offence of a sexual nature committed in relation to a child, including, for example, an offence against a provision of the Criminal Code , chapter 22 or 32 .

(sec.21AZJ-ssec.1) A relevant proceeding is a criminal proceeding— for a child sexual offence; and held before a court at a place prescribed by regulation.
(sec.21AZJ-ssec.2) For subsection (1) (a) , it does not matter whether the criminal proceeding also relates to other offences.
(sec.21AZJ-ssec.3) In this section— child sexual offence means an offence of a sexual nature committed in relation to a child, including, for example, an offence against a provision of the Criminal Code , chapter 22 or 32 .
- (a) for a child sexual offence; and
- (b) held before a court at a place prescribed by regulation.
