### sec.14Q Application of division
This division applies if—
a person (the informant ) gives information (the provided information ) to a journalist, in the normal course of the journalist’s activities as a journalist, in the expectation the information may be published in a news medium; and
the journalist promises the informant not to disclose the informant’s identity as the source of the information.
To remove any doubt, it is declared that this division does not prevent a person from disclosing the informant’s identity as the source of the provided information.

(sec.14Q-ssec.1) This division applies if— a person (the informant ) gives information (the provided information ) to a journalist, in the normal course of the journalist’s activities as a journalist, in the expectation the information may be published in a news medium; and the journalist promises the informant not to disclose the informant’s identity as the source of the information.
(sec.14Q-ssec.2) To remove any doubt, it is declared that this division does not prevent a person from disclosing the informant’s identity as the source of the provided information.
- (a) a person (the informant ) gives information (the provided information ) to a journalist, in the normal course of the journalist’s activities as a journalist, in the expectation the information may be published in a news medium; and
- (b) the journalist promises the informant not to disclose the informant’s identity as the source of the information.
