### sec.133A DNA analysts The Director of Forensic Science Queensland under the Forensic Science Queensland Act 2024 may appoint a staff member of Forensic Science Queensland as a DNA analyst if satisfied the staff member has the necessary qualifications and experience to be a DNA analyst. The appointment takes effect on the day it is notified in the gazette. Subsection (4) applies if the police commissioner has entered into a DNA arrangement with a laboratory under the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 , section 488B (1) . The chief executive officer, however described, of the laboratory may, by written notice, appoint an employee of the laboratory as a DNA analyst if satisfied the employee has the necessary qualifications and experience to be a DNA analyst.
