### sec.542 Inspection of register
The relevant entity must, for a register mentioned in section 540 (1) or 540A (1) , other than the environmental management register or contaminated land register—
keep the register open for inspection by members of the public—
if the register is kept on a website—on the website; or
otherwise—during office hours on business days at the entity’s relevant office for the administration of this Act; and
permit a person to take extracts from the register or, on payment of the appropriate fee by a person, give the person a copy of the register, or part of it.
The fee for a copy of the register or part of it is the amount that—
the relevant entity considers to be reasonable; and
is not more than the reasonable cost of making the copy.
The chief executive must, on payment of the fee prescribed under a regulation, permit members of the public to obtain extracts from the environmental management register or contaminated land register.
