sec.59Authorisation given by special approval

### sec.59 Authorisation given by special approval A special approval authorises its holder to do the things stated in the approval, even though the things would otherwise require the holder to be the holder of a generation, transmission or distribution authority to do the things. Despite subsection (1) , a special approval does not make the holder an electricity entity, unless a regulation provides that the holder is to be treated as an electricity entity. However, for things authorised by the special approval, the special approval holder is taken to be a person who has the relevant authority and the special approval is taken to be the relevant authority. If a special approval authorises the holder to connect generating plant to a transmission grid or supply network, the holder is taken, for that activity, to be the holder of a generation authority. If a special approval authorises the holder to operate a transmission grid, the holder is taken, for that activity, to be the holder of a transmission authority.
