### sec.244 Start of offence proceedings
A proceeding for an offence against this Act must be started within—
1 year after the offence is committed; or
1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the offence is committed.
However, if section 235 (2) (which deals with unlawful taking of electricity over or during a period) applies to the offence, a proceeding for the offence may be started within—
1 year after the end of the relevant period; or
1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the end of the relevant period.
(sec.244-ssec.1) A proceeding for an offence against this Act must be started within— 1 year after the offence is committed; or 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the offence is committed.
(sec.244-ssec.2) However, if section 235 (2) (which deals with unlawful taking of electricity over or during a period) applies to the offence, a proceeding for the offence may be started within— 1 year after the end of the relevant period; or 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the end of the relevant period.
- (a) 1 year after the offence is committed; or
