### sec.164 Notice of damage by authorised persons
This section applies if an authorised person damages anything when exercising or purporting to exercise a power under this chapter.
The authorised person must immediately give written notice of the particulars of the damage to the person who appears to be the thing’s owner.
However, if for any reason it is not practicable to comply with subsection (2) , the authorised person must leave the notice, in a reasonably secure way and in a conspicuous position, at the place where the damage happened.
In this section—
owner of a thing includes the person in possession or control of the thing.
(sec.164-ssec.1) This section applies if an authorised person damages anything when exercising or purporting to exercise a power under this chapter.
(sec.164-ssec.2) The authorised person must immediately give written notice of the particulars of the damage to the person who appears to be the thing’s owner.
