### sec.31 Duty of person conducting business or undertaking that designs electrical equipment or an electrical installation
This section applies to a person (the designer ) who conducts a business or undertaking that designs electrical equipment or an electrical installation.
The designer must ensure that—
the electrical equipment or installation is designed to be electrically safe; and
if the designer gives the design to another entity who is to give effect to the design, the design is accompanied by information about the way the electrical equipment or installation must be used and installed to ensure the equipment or installation is electrically safe.

(sec.31-ssec.1) This section applies to a person (the designer ) who conducts a business or undertaking that designs electrical equipment or an electrical installation.
(sec.31-ssec.2) The designer must ensure that— the electrical equipment or installation is designed to be electrically safe; and if the designer gives the design to another entity who is to give effect to the design, the design is accompanied by information about the way the electrical equipment or installation must be used and installed to ensure the equipment or installation is electrically safe.
- (a) the electrical equipment or installation is designed to be electrically safe; and
- (b) if the designer gives the design to another entity who is to give effect to the design, the design is accompanied by information about the way the electrical equipment or installation must be used and installed to ensure the equipment or installation is electrically safe.
